With a donation from Professor Umakant Sinha Memorial Committee, Department of Botany, Patna University, the Association has introduced this annual award in Biochemistry, Biophysics & Molecular Biology and related area/discipline from 1991. The award carries a cash amount of Rs.4,000/- and a certificate. The recipient has to deliver a lecture on the topic of his/her specialisation in the Section of Biochemistry, Biophysics & Molecular Biology during the Science Congress. The awardee is entitled to TA/DA (within the country) as per ISCA rules for attending the respective Session of the Science Congress in which he/she will receive the award.
Nominations for the award are invited from Members of ISCA Council and Heads of Universities/IITs, Research Institutes as well as from Learned Societies.
Nominations thus received will be sent to three experts (one of whm will be the President, Section of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology of the year, and the other two will be selected by the Executive Committee) for opinion.
The final selection will be made by a Selection Committee consisting of General President, General Secretary (Membership Affairs), General Secretary (Scientific Activities) and Treasurer.
In case the donor intends to have his/her representative in the Selection Committee, the Committee will also include such a representative provided the donor agrees to meet the cost of participation of his/her representative in the Selection Committee. The last date for receiving applications (in prescribed form) is July 31 each year.
