VISIT : 109th Indian Science Congress
The Indian Science Congress Association has demonstrated its responsibility in encouraging scientific research of high merit carried out in India. This is especially important when such efforts are directed towards the benefit of Man and Society. To continue this trend an award of worth Rs. 1.00 lakh with additional TA and DA has been created from the interest of savings of Rs. 20 lakhs accrued during the 91st Session of the Indian Science Congress held at Chandigarh in 2004. The award is named as “Excellence in Science & Technology” which will be given to a noted and highly reputed scientist, who has outstanding contributions in fostering Science & Technology in India, with a emphasis on the benefit to man and society. The age limit should not be more than 65 years.
This annual award will be presented to the recipient during the Inaugural or Valedictory Function of the Annual Session of the Indian Science Congress.
The award carries a cash amount of One lakh along with a Plaque and Certificate. Awardee will be paid T.A. (Air-Fare-economy class-within the country) as per ISCA rules for receiving the award.
Nomination for the award is invited from members of the Council of ISCA Nominations for the award are invited from Members of the Council of ISCA.The Executive Committee in the Meeting held on October 15, 2019 resolved that for this ISCA Memorial award any life member of not less than Ten years of standing or continuous Annual Member of not less than Ten years of standing and also with Ten years of teaching and research experience in University/College or as a scientist in Government recognized Laboratory/institution can be nominated by a Council member. It is also recommended that the heads of the organizations which are providing funds to ISCA in any form cannot be nominated by a Council member for consideration of any award.
The final selection is made by a Selection Committee comprising of General President,Three past Presidents, DST Secretary, General Secretary (Membership Affairs) and General Secretary (Scientific Activities).
The last date for receiving nominations is July 31 each year.
